1. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to operate and improve the app.

Your Content Stays On Your Device

Your tasks, schedule, energy tracking, focus sessions, and related content are stored locally on your device using Apple's secure on-device storage. If you enable iCloud sync, your data synchronizes across your devices through your own private Apple iCloud account. We do not operate proprietary servers that store your personal task content, and we cannot read it.

Automatically Collected Diagnostic Data

• Device type and model
• Operating system version (iOS/iPadOS)
• Aggregated app usage data (e.g., features opened, session duration)
• General country-level location (if provided by the App Store)

This technical data is aggregated and does not personally identify you.

App Permissions

Tether may request permission to access certain system features:

• Notifications: To deliver scheduled time reminders and focus nudges that you explicitly enable.
• Calendar (EventKit): Only if you choose to enable Apple Calendar sync, allowing Tether to read and display your meetings alongside your tasks.
• Microphone / Speech Recognition: Only when you tap to use Voice Capture to turn spoken thoughts into tasks. Audio is processed using on-device speech recognition whenever available.

You can revoke or modify these permissions at any time in your iOS Settings app.

2. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party providers solely to operate the app:

• Apple App Store & iCloud: Purchases, subscriptions, and cross-device sync are managed directly by Apple. We never receive or store your credit card or financial information.
• Microsoft Clarity / Telemetry: For anonymized interaction diagnostics to understand navigation friction and fix bugs. No personal identifiable information is captured.

3. How We Use Information

Collected technical data is used strictly to:

• Maintain app stability and fix crashes
• Optimize app speed and battery efficiency
• Ensure seamless Apple Calendar synchronization

We will NEVER sell your data, rent your information, or track you across third-party websites or apps for advertising.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

Because your content lives on your device and inside your private iCloud, you are in complete control. Deleting the Tether app deletes the local database. You can manage or delete your iCloud backup at any time from iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud.

5. Children's Privacy

Tether does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
